Our women: Sara Higgins's Daily Rituals

Our women: Sara Higgins's Daily Rituals
In our fast-paced world of modern multitasking, women often find themselves wearing multiple hats. While this juggling act can be challenging, our daily rituals can help to ground us and set us up for success.

Meet Sara, the founder of Hana, health advocate and mother. Her journey, merging a medical background with personal health challenges, inspired her to create Hana in Auckland's Grey Lynn. A space to immerse yourself, nourish your wellbeing, and escape the busy-ness of our lives with the healing power of infrared saunas and red light therapy. Let's explore her daily rituals and cherished self care practices.

Morning Ritual: Rise and shine

What's the first thing you do in the morning to set a positive tone for the day?

I take my son Eli outside to say good morning to the birds and the sun, and we both get a dose of morning light in our eyes to help set our circadian clock for the day.

Daily Inspiration: Daily movement

Could you share a daily practice or routine that keeps you inspired and motivated?

Life is wonderfully busy with an 8 month old and a business, but prioritising movement is so important to me and my mental health - each day I take a walk in nature with Eli or do a pilates class.

Evening Ritual: Sauna time

How do you unwind and practice self care in the evening after a busy day?

If bedtime with my son goes smoothly, then I love to sauna in the evening with a big bottle of mineral rich water to help wind down the day.

Favourite Product: Peace

Which is your favourite Embodyme Nurturing Body Oil?

I love Peace - breathing in the notes of lavender, bergamot and lemon encourages me to take several deep breaths and instil some calm in my day.

Words of Wisdom: Slow and steady

What's a piece of advice or words of wisdom that you might like to share in relation to self care or finding time for yourself?

Take it slowly. Start by implementing just one thing that is easy to do regularly and don’t try to overwhelm yourself by being perfect with it.
