Our People: Celine Wallace's Daily Rituals
In our busy lives, where women often juggle many roles, daily rituals help us stay connected and rejuvenated. Equally important is the power of learning from others. When we embrace the wisdom and experiences of those around us, we open ourselves to growth and positive change. By weaving these shared lessons into our routines, we can create a more fulfilling and harmonious life.
Meet Celine, an Ayurvedic Practitioner, Certified Counselor, and Yoga Therapist. Over a decade ago, after experiencing stress-induced seizures as an actress in Hollywood, she embarked on a life-changing journey to the Himalayas in search of healing. It was there that she discovered the profound benefits of Ayurvedic medicine.
Since healing her body and starting her wellness journey, Celine has become a wealth of knowledge studying all things health and wellness. Through the power of Ayurvedic healing herbs and changing her entire lifestyle according to her doshic vikruti, Celine has never had a health condition, and she has made it her mission to share Ayurveda and the power of its therapeutic herbs with the world, through her supplement company Sattva Soul and her women's retreats.
Today, Celine continues to share her extensive knowledge by working with women in her Ayurvedic practice and supporting a global community through Sattva Soul Ayurvedic therapeutic herbs.
Morning Ritual: What's the first thing you do in the morning to set a positive tone for the day?
Ayurvedic Tongue cleaning with a copper tongue cleaner! It's like giving your mouth a fresh start each morning and is honestly, addictive.
While you sleep, toxins and bacteria build up on your tongue from the day before, creating a white coating that can affect your taste buds and health if you swallow it. By using a copper tongue cleaner when you first wake up, you clean off that bacteria before you can swallow it, which helps you not reingest impurities and helps your digestion. Plus, the copper has natural antimicrobial properties to help keep bacteria away for longer. Then I follow up with a glass of warm water with lemon, but always water after tongue cleaning, so I'm not reingesting any toxins.
Daily Inspiration: Could you share a daily practice or routine that keeps you inspired and motivated?
Movement! No matter what is going on in my day, as soon as I move my body I forget what is going on or often get amazing clarity or perspective on something I'm thinking about that might be stressing me out.
The type of movement looks different every day, depending on my cycle, as I cycle sync according to where my body is at and so some days it's going for a walk, some days it's a big run or hard cardio, and other days it's a gentle yoga class or breathwork. Intuitively moving our bodies is so important so we don't dysregulate ourselves, but moving our bodies every day truly is medicine!
Evening Ritual: How do you unwind and practice self care in the evening after a busy day?
As part of my Dinacharya, (Ayurvedic daily routine) I have an evening wind-down routine, where I either go for a walk after dinner to help me digest my food, then I come home have a bath or shower, do an evening massage focusing on massaging my body from the crown of my head to the base of my feet to calm the nervous system. Then I usually make a cup of homemade Ayurvedic CCF tea (Cumin, Coriander, Fennel tea) for digestion and jump into bed to journal, called Sleep Dumping, where I write all of my thoughts from the day in no particular order into a notebook so my thoughts are out of my head and onto paper, which helps me reflect on the day and what I'd like to do differently tomorrow. Usually, once I've finished digesting my thoughts, I read or chat with my partner with a daily life debrief.
Favourite Product: Is there a specific product of ours that you love?
I love your Peace oil and use it every day! In Ayurvedic medicine, we believe Abhyanga which is a form of oiling the body with self-massage is healing for the nervous system and grounding for our energy body. As part of my evening wind-down routine, I use the Peace oil for its calming and grounding scent and natural composition, I never use chemicals on my body as it's our largest organ so whatever we put on it goes directly into our bloodstream. I love stepping out of the shower and either oiling my body before bed or if not my whole body, then giving myself a self-foot massage because it calms the nerve endings in my feet and helps me ground my Vata energy for the day, and with those scents in the oil I have the most amazing deep sleep, and love how hydrated my skin feels when I wake up too. My partner and I have even gotten into sharing the ritual and giving each other nightly foot massages! Highly recommend it!
